So I don't have much to blog about tonight. I'm only writing in here to give myself a break from doing work. March 1st is my deadline for submitting my BAA portfolio, and so far I only have a few concepts to run with. I've laid out a rudimentary sketch of how I'd like my storyboard to play out, and I've finally come to the ends of creating an original character. Let me introduce you to Puck!
He doesn't really have a background or story, although I'm sure one day he will. All that is known about him currently is that he is a faun/satyr. Big surprise, huh?
A room still hasn't been decided upon, nor 4 household objects, and I have yet to get myself out to the farm to do some sketching. Oi, oi.. too much to do and not nearly enough time. I'm currently taking a break from a project for my 3D class which is to create paper pop-up art. Instead of following everyone else down the easy route of making a few Timbit boxes or three page pop-up stories, I've decided to grab this project by its horns and ride it straight into boardgame-ville! Yes, thats right... I'm making a freakin' board game. It's based off of the Mario Party video games and will feature a pop-up surface that players will have to navigate under, over and through. I want to incorporate boxes that open to reveal cards, or bridges that can either be opened or closed depending on how the game plays out. So far all I have are a few ideas and sketches of the way I'd like it to look, and a few game pieces. I just cut out the main support board from foamcore, and it actually worked a lot better then I thought it would. I'm pretty stoked to see how this thing turns out in the end.
Enough lolly-gagging, back to work for this exhausted girl!
